Chapter 10 of Book c. continues the book’s signature style by presenting pure illustrations without text, offering a visual journey through the locations of Louis Vuitton’s Cruise Shows from 2015 to 2025. Under Nicolas Ghesquière’s creative direction, these shows transform into breathtaking visual spectacles set against some of the world’s most stunning locations. Each show seamlessly blends architectural marvels with futuristic fashion, showcasing Ghesquière’s bold vision. From Brazil’s Niterói Contemporary Art Museum to Japan’s Miho Museum and California’s Salk Institute, these sites serve as both inspiration and stage, striking a perfect balance between tradition and innovation.
The shows are often held during twilight or nighttime, harnessing the interplay of sunset hues and dramatic lighting to create a magical ambiance. This choice of timing accentuates the unique spatial and environmental charm of each venue while imbuing the designs with an air of drama and enchantment. Each show becomes more than just a fashion presentation—it is an immersive experience celebrating the artistry of fashion, culture, and location.
To capture the essence of these ten destinations, the chapter uses dusk-inspired color tones as a unifying element across the illustrations. I utilized digital techniques to depict each site, then replicated the textures and forms of real pigments to add depth and dimension to the colors. This approach enhances the tactile quality of the visuals while maintaining compositional harmony, creating a series of images that evoke the captivating atmosphere of these iconic shows.
